Hunger Relief
Nearly every quarter at least one national director in Africa will make a request for hunger relief funds. One director wrote, “We used to buy a 50 kg. bag of maize for K500. Today, we will buy the same bag for K1,000. If the people were not able to buy the bag at the first price, how can they afford to buy it now?” In our USA economy it’s hard to imagine anyone being at the brink of starvation, but it is the case for so many in Africa. Hunger relief is an ongoing concern.
