Rwanda Struggles through Shut Downs

Rwanda, though small in size, has made some amazing impacts in the world since 1994 when thousands died in the 100-day genocide. Pastor Ephrem is a Gospelink missionary in the southern hills of this beautiful nation filled with coffee, tea, and banana farms. Though he lived through those painful days in 1994, today his life is one of joy and thanksgiving! He lives in a remote village on a dirt road, but there the Holy Spirit is alive and well and lives are being transformed by the gospel.

The COVID-19 pandemic of the last year reached even into his small village in the vast jungles of Rwanda. There he saw his own family and many of his church attenders suffer through schools being closed and even in his own church which was closed for many months. However, the gospel cannot be shut down and even amid the coronavirus he saw lives saved and transformed! One such family was the Nzahumunyurwa family. Pastor Ephrem returned to their home four separate times and on the last visit, this family of three all put their faith in Jesus Christ for salvation! Paul, Annociata and Iranzi all have their names in the Lamb’s Book of Life mentioned in Revelation. Paul lived all his life as a witch doctor and collected money from people in exchange for amulets, potions, curses and blessings. Though he had much money, he had no peace. But today he has peace that is beyond riches and Pastor Ephrem is training him in the Scriptures so that he may tell the Good News to others in the hills of Rwanda.
