Being the son of a pastor, I was raised in a godly home. Around age of 10 I discovered that I was a good soccer player and that became my focus. My father told me that I could not miss church to play soccer. Of course, this made me angry and I often wanted to sneak out of church. Since my father stood in the pulpit he could see my every move and that prevented me from leaving. I felt like a prisoner locked away from soccer. I started to hate church and anger built up toward God and my family.
One day a friend from my team was killed by a car. This profoundly made me face the reality of death and my heart softened. During revival, a guest preacher spoke about the exact things that my mind had been pondering — my eternal destiny. He explained salvation and the joy that results in following Him. I seemed to understand everything so clearly. I rushed forward to receive Jesus as my Savior. I was filled with peace! God eventually showed me that He wanted me to serve Him full-time in ministry. I began attending seminary and watching Him do great things through our ministry. Thank you for investing in the work here in Zimbabwe and supporting us.
