Equipping Africa’s next generation of spiritual leaders

Graduation on the Horizon

AIU prepares to celebrate its fourteenth graduating class.

We are always excited about what the Lord is doing at AIU, but that excitement is even greater this time of year, as we look forward to our fourteenth annual graduation ceremony, scheduled for November 1.  Eleven men representing Zambia and Mozambique will receive their degrees, marking the culmination of four years of diligent study at AIU.

Needless to say, our seniors are overjoyed and eagerly anticipating this special occasion. They are grateful for God’s work through Gospelink and AIU, and they each testify to how their studies have strengthened their spiritual lives and equipped them to preach the Gospel. These graduates are prepared to go wherever God sends them to advance His kingdom.

AIU’s graduation ceremony highlights our mission to develop spiritual leaders who will positively influence their communities. This year, we will be honored by the presence of government officials, Gospelink partners, local church leaders, representatives from other theological institutions in Zambia, and many members of the public. We are grateful for the sponsors, lecturers, and partners who have dedicated their resources and efforts to support these students on their journey to graduation.

The included picture shows the 2025 class of graduating seniors. All glory be to God!

Chifundo Gets a waiting room!

Construction begins on a waiting shelter for clinic patients.

Since its opening in 2013, the Chifundo Clinic has been a tremendous blessing to AIU and the neighboring villages. This vital facility was made possible through the generous support of donors who gave faithfully to make quality healthcare accessible to AIU and the surrounding region.

Since it was constructed, the clinic has never had a proper waiting room for patients. As a result, patients and their families have had to wait outside in all kinds of weather, sometimes enduring intense heat or heavy rains. By God’s providence, construction is set to begin soon on an extension of the clinic’s main entrance. The new shelter will be designed with patients in mind, providing a safe place for them to wait, sheltered from the hot sun and seasonal rain.

Chifundo serves as the nearest health center for many rural families. Before the clinic was built, villagers – including expecting mothers – had to walk up to two hours to reach medical care. Thanks to the Chifundo Clinic, essential health services are now just minutes away, bringing comfort, safety, and hope to many lives.

Thank you for your prayers and generous support than allows us to minister to the community in such a practical way!

Poultry Project Update

Expanding the poultry project helps AIU edge closer to sustainability.

Students at AIU enjoy plenty of chicken as part of their regular diet—but it’s more than just a meal. To help lower food costs and promote sustainability, AIU raises its own chickens right here on campus.

Currently, we have three poultry houses, each with a capacity of 765 chickens, which are harvested for use in the campus cafeteria. Beyond reducing expenses, this initiative helps AIU move toward greater operational sustainability. Surplus chickens from each harvest are sold in the market, generating income that supports the university and lays the groundwork for future growth.

The poultry project also serves as a hands-on learning opportunity for students in the work scholarship program. By caring for the chickens, students gain practical skills in poultry farming—skills that can benefit their families, communities, and ministries long after graduation. It’s education, experience, and sustainability—all rolled into one!

We praise the Lord for His continued provision and are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this project so far. Please join us in prayer as we continue to expand and trust God for the resources needed to sustain this vital initiative.

God’s Love for Little Learners

AIU’s growing daycare ministry resumes operation for term three.

The daycare ministry at AIU continues to grow—bringing joy and blessing to both our campus community and the neighboring villages. From its very beginning, this ministry has provided a nurturing place where young children receive quality early education and loving care.

We thank God that the daycare reopened smoothly on September 8th! Today, the classrooms are filled with happy little learners from both AIU and nearby villages. With more young families joining our community, we are excited to see even more children enroll in the days ahead.

Operating on a non-profit basis, the daycare ensures that every child has access to this special opportunity. Parents contribute only enough to cover daily supplies, while AIU supports the teachers. In rural Zambia—where early childhood education is often out of reach—this ministry is giving children a strong start in life. Many families from surrounding villages are eager to join, recognizing the hope and help this program provides.

At the heart of the daycare is a deep commitment to both spiritual and academic growth. Children learn God’s Word alongside their daily lessons, building a foundation of faith as they develop essential skills. They also enjoy plenty of playtime in our outdoor play park, where laughter, teamwork, and creativity help them grow together.

We praise the Lord for His faithfulness and for all who continue to support this ministry. Please join us in prayer for God’s continued provision and blessing as the daycare expands to reach even more families.

STAFF SPOTLIGHT

LAZAROUS CHIVUNGA

Distance Learning Administrative Assistant & Computer Lab Supervisor

Lazarous, a 2022 graduate of AIU, counts it a great privilege to have joined the university staff soon after completing his studies. Since that time, he has faithfully served as the Distance Learning Administrative Assistant and Computer Lab Supervisor—playing a vital role in supporting AIU’s efforts to make Christ-centered education accessible to students near and far.

In his position, Lazarous manages many of the logistical details that keep the Distance Learning Program running smoothly. His daily responsibilities include overseeing the call center, responding to emails, supervising the computer lab during operating hours, and assisting students with their academic and technical needs. Through his service, he helps ensure that AIU’s programs operate efficiently and effectively.

STudent SPOTLIGHT

Mourice Banda

Sophomore

Mourice Banda, a sophomore at AIU, comes from Nkhotakota District in Malawi. He is part of a large and loving family of seven children—three brothers and three sisters.

Raised in a Christian home, Mourice grew up watching his father faithfully lead a local church in the Liudzi parish of Nkhotakota. He vividly remembers the day his father shared the gospel with him and led him to place his faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ. That moment marked the beginning of his personal walk with the Lord.

Even now, Mourice’s father—though elderly—continues to pray earnestly for his children, encouraging them to remain steadfast in their faith. His father’s devotion and example deeply inspired Mourice’s decision to pursue ministry training at AIU.

I have learned many new things in my time at AIU. It was my ambition to study theology even when I was in high school, but I did not know how to find a theological school. What I have learned so far has encouraged me that I can be a servant of God. Some choose to study theology to earn a living, but from my heart, I enjoy sharing the Gospel and calling more to God. That is my main goal.
— Mourice Banda, AIU Sophomore

After graduation, Mourice hopes to go out into the world to proclaim the Gospel so that others may come to know the goodness and grace of God. He is sincerely grateful to the sponsors who make his education possible and asks for continued prayers—for wisdom, guidance, strength, and perseverance as he completes his studies

Thank you for your prayers and participation with us as we seek daily our Lord’s direction in preparing Africa’s next generation of Christian leaders at Ambassador International University!
